Fun Fact One: First to catch my attention this week was the news that Didier Drogba has malaria and yet still played part of the game for Chelsea last weekend. What a big strong man! Due to this shock of a diagnosis Chelsea plan to play a few charity games for charity ‘United Against Malaria’, which helps to buy nets for families in danger of malaria to sleep under – the Anopheles mosquito (which carries the plasmodium parasite that causes malaria) likes to strike at night, so sleeping under nets is a great non-chemical way of avoiding the little biters.

Talking of little biters and doing something for charity involving nets. You know who else had malaria once? Yup, ex-WAG, toilet fighter and X-Factor darling Cheryl Cole. A little tip for those attached football fans out there - delight your other half by slipping this little gem into the conversation, making sure that you include the view that you believe that Cheryl was hit so hard by the illness because of her poor immune system – a down side of being too fragile and too skinny. Any woman will love hearing their man say anything negative about the Geordie beauty and her slim frame.

Fun Fact Two:  There is nothing Dr D’Mournay likes more than footballers-gone-wild, so I was overjoyed to hear about the way the younger Newcastle players celebrate their victories. Kevin Nolan (Dr D’Mournay’s fantasy football favourite) and Andy Caroll have been naughty boys recently, haven’t they? It has been alleged that after their 5-1 drubbing of Sunderland they had a bit of a party. A small, 14-hour bender involving themselves, a smattering of alcohol, cocaine and a bevy of young beauties, culminating in Carroll shouting ‘Ride me! Ride me!’ while two of the ladies looked on. Said ladies were amused by his manliness no doubt, and hoping (as Dr D’Mournay is) that this will form part of his goal celebrations when he scores his first goal for England.

Caroll has subsequently moved out of Nolan’s house to ensure he remains on the straight and narrow. With a court case coming up, it will be interesting to see what he gets up to next…

Fun Fact Three: The broadsheets have gone wild with the news that John Barnes heard about the birth of his seventh child live on air and didn’t leave immediately to rush to his wife’s bedside. Given he was watching Liverpool win 2-0 against Chelsea who can blame his hesitance? That aside, John did end up getting to the hospital before the end of the match, after completing his fine punditry, so it really was much ado about nothing. Dr D’Mournays point of view on this is simple – it’s none of our business and the papers should shut up about John. He is, after all, a legend...

Dr D’Mournay transfer titbit of the week – Luis Suarez, Uruguayan superstar, has shown a keen interest in joining a certain North London team this week. Will Harry say yes? Only time will tell…
